The Joy Of Sharing The Moment
May 13, 2026
The best part of launching a book is bringing it to the world.
When all of those hours of writing, editing, rewriting, and re-editing finally come to fruition.
I have to confess though - I don't have the "plan an event" gene! In my personal or work life!
I am the person in the "close friend group" who says - whatever you all want - I'll go along with it (because I love just turning up, rather than planning - but I deeply value the time and effort that others give on this.)
I actually find organising events exhausting. I don't know why - because I love attending them. It's a little like cooking...I love eating, just not the cooking! 🙄 (further self-analysis still required).
So when my book-writing, work bestie, Nina Christian said "yes - let's do a joint book launch in Melbourne," I was ecstatic.
And I can definitely now say the one thing better than launching your own book is doing it with a best friend! (We actually started writing our books together last September, so launching them together felt so right.)
She also has the event planning gene. I knew it would be amazing, and as her hometown is Melbourne - she knew all the right people to make the event spectacular!
And it was!
In a gorgeous bar - the venue was ideal. It had all the best of Melbourne - great venue, great food, great people, great music, great vibes!
She basically organised all of it - and I'm so grateful.
I got to see many people I haven't seen in years - and it was such a fun, joyful night, that we got to share together.
Here we are together at our Melbourne book launch - a memory I will always treasure.
Friendships that traverse work and life are special. And something I am really grateful for. (As well as the AWESOME event planning!)
