Curiosity, Courage, Commitment: The Journey Behind My Next Book

Aug 27, 2025

I've been a little quiet of late!
That's because I am deep in creation mode...
Getting ready to write my next book. One I am beyond excited to write!

This book has been bubbling in my blood and being for awhile...
Its based on work I have been doing for the past 5 years...
Which has been growing in need among my clients and the market.

Writing a book you are proud to show to the world takes curiosity, courage and commitment. Here is why:

💌 Curiosity - writing for me is a pure creation process. I have a rough outline, but when I'm in writing mode - even I don't know what will come out! It is holding an open, curious mind, to connect with what surfaces and emerges through ideas, stories, experiences and emotions. It is bringing together what you know and feel into a stream of words that you wrestle with live to create form and shape. Somewhere in there - you hope there is a spark that resonates and connects!

💌 Courage - Pouring yourself into a book is not for the feint hearted! It is literally putting your expertise, experiences and essence into 60,000 words for people to see. With AI, anyone these days can technically write a book with just information. A book that has YOU in it though is completely different. Its a window into my values, my beliefs, my expertise, and my soul. I don't write to tick a box. I write to share with the world what I care about, and what I hope will help them. I write to grow and become more. That takes courage

💌 Commitment - No book that is personally written is easy, even if you have written many books before (despite this being my third book, I'm still at the crawling stage when it comes to the world of book writing!) Overtime you may get better at knowing how to execute the writing process, but unlocking what you want to say, and building this into a body of work that makes sense is always challenging. At the end, you just have to do it. Glue your bum to a seat, and begin, session after session. It's a marathon, but like any hard achievement, it is made more meaningful because of the discipline, the time, the sacrifice. It is something to be proud of.

Writing a book is literally like having a baby - there is anticipation and excitement, but also some trepidation and fear. You hope the labour is easy, but it may not be... 😬

But at the end, you have something which is part of you, which has come from you. Something new and beautiful, that you can't wait to share with the world.

From a book writing perspective, I'm officially 9 months pregnant - about to pop! Pregnant with possibility, but with the hard part ahead.

I've got 10 days away....to (hopefully) give birth.

Wish me luck!
