Where Work, Creativity and Friendship Collide

Day 4 of my book writing retreat, and the ideas are flowing fast!
Being my third book, I know the rhythm, and getting a "shitty first draft" is the main focus of this book writing retreat. There will be lots of editing later, but for now its just letting the ideas flow from me onto the page.
The part that is new though is writing with 2 other people. I am with my friends Nina Christian And Alex Hagan - who are also writing their own brilliant book.
There is a constant "thrum" of fingers flying over keyboards. We are each in our own creative world in our heads (thinking and typing as fast as we can) but when we need to come back to the real world (and stretch our stiff backs) it is lovely to share a walk, or a new creative inspiration we are working on or a meal.
Nina is also an amazing cook (I definitely am not!) and is creating the most delicious meals everyday. We have had multiple gourmet dinners, a beach picnic (under the full moon), games of Morganopoly (think Monopoly - but better due to the creative genius of Sharon Doyle Bill Doyle), beach walks, cold water plunges and beautiful conversation - along with over 20,000 words in 4 days! (yes - I am on track with my 5000 words a day target).
This is an experience which includes both work and play. As I sit now writing away at 6.15pm (we are a hard working, committed bunch) I am really grateful for this time, and the space to create.
Everyday I get the privilege of combining work I love, with people I love - whether it is with my clients, my entrepreneur community or my family and friends.
Its special and a priviledge to have relationships that cross over the worlds of work, play, focus, creativity, challenge, and insight. This is a week feeding my soul on many fronts.
And a special shout out to David Morgan who is keeping everything on track at home, so I can be here, fully present to create.
